FORUM ADS & Announcements:

A message from Forever Tybee members addressing a piece of literature mailed out to Tybee residents by members of an 'unknown' Wilmington Island political action group.

Forever Tybee Disclaimer:

It's A Fact!
About Commitment……..

As we near the end of the 2009 election season on Tybee Island, Forever Tybee wants to thank all of those who have shown their support in so many ways for the values that we believe are so important to the preservation of our island paradise.

We believe that government, (like pre-election parties) should be open and transparent and available to every citizen, regardless of their beliefs or opinions and not closed to those who are not in the inner circle.

The candidates we have endorsed have made no commitment to Forever Tybee. We don’t expect that one of them will sit in a Council meeting and state that any decision on any issue had been decided when they were elected, and not through the open process of public hearings.

No one from the Forever Tybee Political Action Committee will ever stand at the podium and remind Council of things that were secretly agreed to before the election.

We have only asked that they work to protect our island, listen objectively and respectfully to all citizens and appointed committees, even when they do not share a common opinion.

We have asked that they encourage and empower volunteers because we, and they, recognize the incredible value of volunteers as has been demonstrated so many times and for so many years on Tybee Island.

In our discussions with our endorsed candidates, they demonstrated, not that they would take specific actions on specific issues, but that they would embrace and embody these core beliefs that we feel are central to good local government.

If you agree, we ask that you vote for the candidates that we have endorsed on Tuesday, November 3rd.
