Another Day in Paradise - a unique 2010 Tybee gift calendar by Nancy Heffernan

One of the region's most gifted artists, Tybee Times contributing photographer, Nancy Heffernan has just published a remarkable tribute to Tybee. Her new 2010 gift calendar captures the very essence of the island's beauty through the eye of the camera.
The calendar and other photographic prints were on display at the 13th Festival of the Arts under the big tent in the Strand parking lot at South End along with the work of dozens of the region's finest artists on October 17th and 18th. Heffernan sold fifty-five calendars, and says since its release at the end of September, copies have been flying out the door. "I've wanted to do this for a long time, and finally decided if I ever was going to make it happen now was the time!" Heffernan is excited, "I'm thrilled that it's been so well received." She says the next thing she's planning is a book of her most celebrated photography.

A cropped version of one of the photos "Blue Palm" was featured on the cover of September's "Tybee Time" edition of our publication as well. Besides photographing Tybee, Heffernan is out in force these days carrying her camera to the highways and byways of South Georgia, and get ready for more fabulous portraits of the low country in future months.
